Its a easy thing to live in the future . So easy the majority can be busy lost in it .
The past is too concrete with too concrete connections, connections that turn out to be failed investments ----making water , designing energy systems that haven't yet been invented.

The Victorian election result is not progress because democracy is still very much under threat here.
Something needs to happen because people ( say in the country or young people on casual work ) feel no longer represented ( which threatens the whole support for democracy).
One thing which will work and has worked ( and is gradually being eroded) is the idea in our democracy of ridings .
There must be great depression right across Australia because even our local councils have no sense of the great value of retaining ridings
The left in their simple myopic view of what constitutes representative love to have a go at the fact that ridings don't all contain the same number of people . But they and us now have to live with the wishes of the most populous areas and political alliances. This is not progressive because popularity is what keeps sheep in a huddle.
its clear too that the people are desperate to protect the illusion of progress - even to the point of preaching about it as Daniel Andrews did after the win .
Our progressive press love to laugh at Trump unaware that we too want the illusion of control and progress to remain ( at all costs ) - even though we are taxing ourseleves ( retirement age 70 45cents in the dollar ) and our children ( casualized employment ) to the limit.
Noone disseccetd the real reason for the libs loss ( esp youngvoters) because the politics of the illusion of progress reigns supreme .
Nothing better symbolizes the sleepy dreaminess amongst mature Australians than at the time of this post Monday 26 nov 2018 , noone has twigged to the obviuos to those on the hustings . The liberals lost because they were on the nose with young people in particular . Watch it make news now ----toolate mate .
The loss of more hinterland was to be expected .
The loss of a sense of true representation is the deep disease that will eat away at our democcary till we deal with it . When any twit can get to be a rep by offering lollies to others and a career to themsleves , something is deeply wron.
