A lot of people at the polling centres won't think that . The long suffering public will meet well intentioned young people who think the Greens will do great things for the country - talk about the future and the environment in exciting new ways which make the major parties look almost backward in focus ( not true ,just looks that way) . Presumably too, many will see them as an option apart from the major parties, who never seem to stop squabbling .( the current ads don't help )
If only a few of those well intentioned people stood as independants instead of with a party whose primary l agenda items is not what the majority of Australians want , let alone can accept .As Voltaire might have said "I will fight to death to make sure their voice is heard .........but not to those few run the country" .

Rather than always moving on, how about we build the future and choose the best builder available. I am sure no voters would allow a non builder to build their house. Julia Gillard expects us to keep trusting her crew to build complex credible environmental vehicles when the wheels were never there , their chosen builders are on the drip feed, and they, as managers, are prepared to let the Greens design everything now anyway.
As an applied scientist, it’s very hard to watch wannabes blundering through a list of wonderful sounding ideas when they clearly have no idea of how to implement them. It’s not a joke when we haven’t even got science and technology properly on the menu at our schools.
Believe me, The Greens hypocritical , reactive and unbelievable talk of a mentoring program this week goes down very, very poorly amongst those of us who have taught science and technology , and what really works, for decades in our own backyards ! If your kids, as scientists, ever got to work for some of these wannabes, would they get a word in edgeways ?
Some opposition friends ( they are indeed friends because they talk passionately about the same things I am interested in ) on the hustings are saying to me that " the Greens won't really be in charge - if they get another seat in the senate " But I disagree .
Look at the way the so many people give into careless talk >the greens have been nagging for years about gay marriage and many many people ( let hope not polys) would give in to them because they are so persistent naggers .
But look at the consequences of weak leadership of our woosy generation.see childrenincharge.blogspot.com
Your vote counts to keep our culture.
The Greens would have us merge Marriage, Gay marriage and Islamic marriage.
Scientists tell us that if we lose our language, we lose our sense of identity.
The young children in this country often don’t know when to have sex ( Reist).
Care for them by being very clear what you mean when you use each word.
